SPARC Collaboration Meeting

The objectives of this Collaboration Meeting are

• to inform you on the present status of the GSI Future Facility FAIR;
• to discuss the physics and priorities of the SPARC project;
• to define the goals and to make adjustments in the organization of the working groups;
• to reach a task division for producing the technical report(TR). Deadline: January, 2005;
• to form a Coordination Board (CB) with representatives of the working groups;
• to look over the financial resources of SPARC, including the financial support of the participants.

If you have any additional suggestions to be discussed during meeting, please let us know.

The workshop will offer the opportunity to present and discuss future plans and ideas. Please let us know if you want to make an extra oral contribution.

The Letter of Intent (LoI) [PDF - 3.75 MiB] submitted by SPARC to the GSI management was evaluated by an international Program Advisory Committee (PAC) in June, 2004. The evaluation report is very positive. and SPARC got green light to continue with the realization of the proposal. The next step will be the preparation of the technical report which has to be finished by January 15, 2005. For the organization of our projects we formed 5 project groups and 9 working groups around the instrumental, experimental and technical installations and two theory working groups. Accommodation

We have reserved rooms at a rate of € 68,- for single rooms (breakfast included). A contingent of 30 rooms in Hotel IBIS will be kept until September 27, 2004, which can be booked by reservation code 20906. We will provide transportation from and to the Hotel IBIS before and after the sessions.
